W hat is an Off-Highway-Truck ? Off-Highway dump trucks (know as well as rigid dump trucks or simply as dumpers or dump truck) are construction vehicles for the transportation of excavated earth, especially used in quarries. Dump trucks consists of a driver's cabin and a tilting Box, not connected as the articluated dumper by an articulated joint, but forming a ridgid unit. The Off- Highway dump trucks usually have two axles, whereas the rear axle is twin-tyred. Rigid dump trucks are more robust and more suitable for areas with difficult access. The world´s largest dump truck has a maximum weight of 592 tons and a payload of 360.
